Starting a Small Business

Starting a small business is something we did with Fitted Carpets. What does it entail? What's important to make it work? The answers are on "Starting a Small Business" - and they're good.

Starting a small business is a battle to get to the top

Whatever your business is, it faces a hard slog to get where you need it. Starting a small business is something that has no short cuts, there is nothing you can beg, buy or steal to circumnavigate the hard work required.

But it is easy to make a mistake. Let me repeat that in case it didn't go in - "it's easy to make a mistake". That means everything you do to start the small business off can be effectively flushed down the plug hole with one rash decision.

And that's cheap as well (lol). This is where this site by Danny Wilson can prove invaluable - his experience can stop you trashing things if you think.

The small business is a 21st Century icon

Starting a small business will prove a success for the future, just look at the alternatives. Even BP is currently facing a possible meltdown in the face of their pollution fiasco, they're considering filing for protection against bankruptcy.

Competition for larger industries and even supply of tittle tattle consumer goods is all done by the "BRIC's" countries. Consumer businesses will be small businesses and hopefully protected by the unique nature of what they supply. The UK will likely start to supply the rest of the world with art and crafts, Just as other economies have been supplying us for years.

Starting a small business may be the only way to insulate oneself from the overbearing pressures growing within the economy. Now is the time to buckle down and get established for the long run.

What can be protected?

That is just the question? You will be asking how starting a small business can possibly be useful in this regard. I can only summise that being owner of a successful small business may replace the social security system we have now - sort of do it yourself social security.

The products and services supplied will have to be largely bespoke and not copyable by BRIC's. That is why we may be set to change places for a while! Don't say you weren't warned (of my opinion!)
