One way to spend a glorious weekend is to check out the hotels in Bath and book one so you can check out the many attractions the city has to offer. You could do worse than checkout the Hotels in Bath website to select a place to stay, it's easy and uncomplicated.
There are twelve hotels in Bath on the homepage, each withing its own bounded box. This will include a picture and a brief bullet point list with the main factors involved. This format makes it easy to compare the various options and choose the one most closely related to your needs.
By experience I can tell you that many of the choices are very similar and all to a high standard. In particular I can say how high the standards of the hotel restaurants are. I would seriously doubt that going out to eat would provide anything of a much higher standard.
All the fantastic tourist attractions are close by, in walking distance because most of the hotels are in the city centre. The Thermae Spa Baths and Roman Baths both feature water from the famous hot springs, in the case of the former you will be trying it yourself (as the Romans did).
Other features in striking distance of the city centre are the Costume Museum, Pulteney Bridge (by Robert Adam) and the Crescent. Shopping is of a very high quality and there are many good cafes and restaurants to hide in when the poor feet get tired.
